Fall Fashion Week 2011

So its been fall Fashion week and there has been a billion fashion shows from all the big designer names. So here I'm going to do a recap with all of my favourite trends for next fall. The biggest trends that I have seen so far have been deep jewel coloured everything, and lots and lots of fur! Also jewel coloured fur!

This is my favourite dress by Zac Posen. Love the indigo colour and the long sleeves. I bought a very similar (though shorter sleeved) dress from American Apparel last summer, and I love it. I also wanted to find one with long sleeves, which is really big in a lot of the shows for this fall.

Zac Posen

Like this Dolce & Gabbana long sleeve dress. Covered in stars. What more can you want? Another slightly alarming trend: short socks with sandals or pumps. Not sure about that one....

Deep pink three quarter sleeve dress by L'Wren Scott, possibly my favourite designer from fall fashion week (followed by Versace). Note the red fur stole.

Another one, with beautiful baroque patterning and a pretty turquoise colour.

Love the nude colour background, it makes the dress look painted on. Very sexy.

Pink again, and fantastic patterning! Very tiny stole though.

A break from pink and turquoise and purple, here's blue and red!

Then back to turquoise and purple.

Versace

Then we go a little goth with black and purple:

Versace

This is goth done right (ie fashionably, not angsty) with a pretty leather skirt and jacket.

Versace

This is fall fashion, so obviously there's going to be turtlenecks! (See my earlier posts...) This one is purple (again, see my earlier post).

Versace

Told you about the fur and colours!! This is Gucci's version of the trend, and they are going big with the stoles!

Gucci

Gucci also did a lot of short-shorts with long see-through skirts. Again with the colours!

Here we have a Hervé Léger dress. But can he top the famous bandage dress? Decide for yourself:

Fendi goes for red and yellow for their colours and I love the bright red tights.

Speaking of tights, Betsey Johnson had her models wearing sheer patterned tights, almost like the ones in my last post.

And if you look closely at her models in her ready to wear show, she is using real sized models! They are actually not models, in fact, but employees at her offices! It's supposed to show how the clothes are supposed to look on real women (as opposed to fake women?). Blue dress, striped stockings, skulls and elbow gloves (another big trend).

Here is another example of the long gloves trend in this Badgley Mischka outfit:

Badgley Mischka

Also another turtleneck, but with a trend that I don't love so much: greige. The most boring colour in the world. But a welcome contrast to all the colours. Here they mix long gloves, turquoise, and greige in one fabulous outfit:

Badgley Mischka

But Mischka couldn't resist the bright colours, like in this hot pink toga dress with a giant bow.

Another trend that I did not love (but was done really well by Oscar de la Renta) was the large amounts of silver and gold. AND he has his models wearing giant furry Russian hats!!!
Oscar de la Renta

More giant furry Russian hats! Using fur, not only around your shoulders, but also on your head! Yes!

Oscar de la Renta

And again! Also, red, black and white is quite possibly my favourite colour palate.

Emilio Pucci designed this incredibly stunning teal/emerald dress with long sleeves and turtleneck.

He also designed this pink turtleneck for men. My boyfriend knows what he's talking about ;).

Well that's it with my favourite looks from fall fashion week! I hope you enjoyed them as much as I did! I'm going to leave you with one last look from my fave, L'Wren Scott:
